I’m a real estate broker at Bear Island Land Co., Inc. in Ely, MN. Ely is a small town on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota. I’ve been here for 6 years through good real estate times, slow real estate times, and in between (A lot has happened in 6 years!). Ely has been my home most of my life – I grew up here on Bear Island Lake just south of town. The small town atmosphere and quality of life is what brought me back after graduating from St. Cloud State University with a Real Estate Degree in brokerage and management.

Because of the irregularities of the national news as it relates to real estate in Ely – this is a great way for the general public to be informed about what the real estate outlook is really like in Ely. So much of the national reports and outlooks have been so different than what things have been like here. For instance, the country saw a major decline in the real estate market beginning in 2006. Our sales took until the middle of 2008 to feel the effects that the rest of the country had been experiencing for some time.

I look forward to provide enticing information about real estate in the Ely area. I will also, from time to time, insert exciting details about current events around town. I feel it is important for you to be interested in real estate in and around the Ely area, as well as have a draw to the community once you’re here. There’s many reasons people own property here and I’d love to hear your stories about enjoying time “up-north”! Along with myself, my real estate partner, “Charlie” will also be regularly keeping you posted on real estate/surveying issues.
